We, the undersigned, have several objections to the Sahler Mill Farms subdivision as it is currently proposed. There can be no genuine dispute that the density and piano key placement of the proposed houses is vastly out of character with the neighborhood.  Lower Sahler Mill Road presently has only 28 residences spread out along its two mile length. This action proposes a 50% increase in density of the entire road -- all to be placed along a very short, one quarter mile section. It can reasonably be expected to cause numerous significant adverse impacts, not only to the character of the community, but to our water supply, quality of life, and overall natural environment. The current proposal will cause a substantial change in use and intensity of use of the subject property itself, and will require the destruction and removal of large quantities of vegetation and fauna.

 

We request that the board insist that the developer meaningfully reduce the quantity of houses and stagger their locations in order to mitigate potential problems and impacts, and require an Environmental Impact Statement to mitigate impacts to the maximum extent practicable, as required by law.
